Despite the embarrassment factor, I thought it was worth sticking up a few photies from last Monday's less than successful jaunt to the vicinity of Creag Pitridh. I blame the papers actually, because the wee route description I'd printed off from the Herald quite clearly stated that you go over the stone bridge and follow the path. Now, if it had said that you have to go over the stone bridge, look at a map and follow the correct path, then obviously I wouldn't have been wandering through a beautiful snowy forest with Andy for 45 minutes before we realised that we were blithely heading in completely the wrong direction.
And that, coupled with the inordinate length of time it took us to get to Loch Laggan in the first place because the A9 was down to one lane in parts, meant we didny have enough time to get anywhere near the hill.
So in true undaunted outdoorsman style we drove to the Clachaig for lunch.

Mind you this trip sounds like an excuse for a wee visit to the Clachaig though my preference would have been for the Loch Leven Seafood Cafe.

ReplyDeleteAye, the failure rate was a wee bit high last year. Monday's was worse than most though, given the weather was really good, and it was just stupidity that we went the wrong way. Still, another lesson learned - and the burgers in the Clachaig were particularly tasty. The pub was freezing though, so if you're thinking of popping in during the winter I'd take a jumper. Or a down jacket.
