Road trip

Me & Marion had a short impromptu tour of pairts north last weekend. It was really a journey around Loch Ness, we having established that the Benleva Hotel in Drumnadrochit was happy to stress its dug friendly credentials online. We've often thought it'd be handy to find a hotel apart from the George in Inveraray that we could actually relax in for a night.

And it was good. Not only dog-friendly, but positively dog-encouraging. No extra charge; they were allowed in all the public areas; breakfast was served in the lounge bar, so the dugs could come down and stare at your sausages; and the owners and staff were aye ready with a biscuit or a bowl of water when required. The place was clean, the food was good, and the public bar was one of those proper wee "locals" that even had a log fire. I'll grant you the bedroom was a bit cold when we arrived, but it was baltic outside, and they clearly don't expect many visitors wanting rooms in February.

Overall, genuinely recommended. It's also only about twenty minutes drive from Glen Affric so a return trip would certainly take the edge off a big Munrobagging day there in the summer. Result.
