When we went to Stob Coir an Albannaich, the original plan had been to do Meall nan Eun as well. It was a mixup over the time we had available that put paid to that idea, and I think the fact that it looked really easy - really really easy - from the summit of Albannaich may have prompted us to think that it was a hill we could save up for shortish days, because it's not too far from home, and you can do it on its own.
Aye, right.
Since then we had Snowgate, and then today - well - it rather rained on our parade.
I'm genuinely not sure I've ever been as wet when I've been hillwalking. Admittedly, in addition to heavy rain, galeforce winds had been forecast, but despite five hours walking, we didn't quite get high enough to decide on the veracity of the latter part of that prediction. Regardless, today was one of the rare outdoorsy forays where there was really nothing positive that we could take from the experience.
Except maybe that Molly, big water dug that she is, was in her element.
That's not an official waterfall behind her, by the way - it's just this afternoon's rain making its way aff the hill.

Yikes!
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed it. Err...
Aye weather has been rather crap recently :-(
ReplyDeleteBet Gordy is in a good mood today! :-)
Christ, and May is supposed to be the good month....
ReplyDeleteAye, it was definitely a trifle damp. It's maybe no wonder that Glenceitlin doesn't seem to be a terribly popular ascent route for that hill.
