Sunday morning worked! We were up and organised, packed and in town by 9. The chipper serves takeaway breakfasts. And it's not even a rip off - £2 for a bacon roll and a cup of tea is good value in my book, on a Sunday morning in a touristy hotspot. It's good value anywhere on the planet, now that I think about it.
What was even better was that the sun had decided to come out, and we saw this big fecker of a boat squeezing its slow way through the locks.
Here it's next to yon castle on Loch Ness, for comparison purposes.
Yes - it is a monster. Ta-Daa!
