As my beloved was working on Christmas Day, we decided to have the turkey blowout on Boxing day. This sort of meant that the 25th was like the old days, ie just me and my mother, watching the telly and then having a non-traditional dinner. Cottage pie in this case.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation was on, as it should be on Christmas day, so that's another tradition that was observed.
Boxing Day turned out pretty good - far too much food of course. It took a military style operation to keep all the dogs and cats away from the turkey and assorted meaty delights, but we managed. The fact that I was wanting to get away for a walk on the 27th even meant that I kept my sensible head on - not so much of a tradition.
